Competition entry for a maritime knowledge center in Randaberg Norway.

The center wants to convey the history and culture of the sea, the coast and the fishermen. The heart of the center is the maritime museum with its aquarium. This is set as a gigantic water column in the center of the museum space and extends over the entire height of the building. The visitor is guided around the water column and then spiraled via stairs to the next floor or literally speaking upward from the seabed to the surface. Once at the top he finds himself in a large rotunda enjoying the panoramic view of the surroundings and the sea.
